Information About the
USS Plymouth Rock Ships Association
The USS Plymouth Rock (LSD29) Association came into being through the untiring efforts of Harry T. Andersen, BTC, of Waukegan, IL who served aboard the "Rock" in 68-70. Harry had the idea of forming the association after having been married on board and retiring while attached to the Plymouth Rock. Through Harrys efforts and that of his wife Jeanne, a data base of former shipmates was created. Harry and Jeane communicated with over 60 magazines, newspapers and each of these were sent information as to the first reunion. At the present time this data base has approximately 665 former shipmates. The Ships Association truly owes a great deal of thanks to the Andersen's for all the work that was done in the early years of 1995-96. To view more information about the reunions, visit the ships link to Pictures and Information of past/present reunions or click here Reunions.
Membership is open to all enlisted and officers who served on the USS Plymouth Rock at any time during her years of service. We publish a neewsletter every four months and we have biannual reunions in different parts of the country. Dues paying members receive a US post office mailed copy of the newsletter, all others who have a good e-mail address receive a copy by e-mail. If you are interested in joining, select either the application in pdf format or in Microsoft Word format. Instructions for completion and mailing are found on the application.
